First Blood

Its not like I didn't expect my child to get hurt...but I was surprised we saw blood for the first time so early...and twice yesterday! Now before you start thinking I'm a horrible parent...relax...it was a small amount...
First I left Holden with grandmere so I could get an hour to myself, when I came to pick him up he had a cut on his finger that was bleeding...I found out that while Holden's cousin Makennais quite happy playing in the sandbox...oblivious to what else is surrounding the sandbox...Holden is not...sure, the sand is fun...but so is Uncle Josh's tool box, and the shelves...and anything else he might be able to climb on or whack with his hands...so somewhere out there he caught his finger on something a little sharp...who knows...

And not to be out done...while I, his mom, was watching him Holden dove head first right into my knee cap! When I picked up my crying child and held him to my shoulder...I saw spots of blood on my shirt...apparently his teeth caught his lip and ouch again we had a little bleeding...Now how exactly a child who can't walk or crawl lunges himself around enough to hurt himself is beyond me...but it happens and I am sure as soon as he is mobile...we are in for worse injuries...he is definitely a boy, and more agressive, and less cautious than his cousin Makenna...yikes! I'm praying we don't have a lot of broken bones or stitches!
On the crawling front...I think he is getting closer each day...and he definitely gets himeself around quite a bit...Oh and we have 2 more teeth coming in! That will make 6!

Aw poor Holden, least he had you to comfort him right away! Can't wait until he figures out crawling! You'll really be in for it then! I agree with Amy that you take great pictures! He's a little character!

Hey, I recognize that park.

Poor little boo boo, boy. It stinks when they start hurting themselves. Only a matter of time until he starts getting bumps and scrapes on his head from tripping while learning to walk.

Brody got his first bloody lip a few months ago. How you get a fat lip when you only have gums still confuses me?! lol
