Pismo Beach Sunday

Day two:-)
Last time we came down this way one of the things Tom really wanted to do was hike Bishop's Peak, and do a little bouldering...But, we were with friends and there were many other fun things to do...AND if you asked Tom he would always want to hike/rock climb :-) So I told him we would wake up Sunday and head out...leaving Holden with my family to go to the beach which would make the hike more doable for us:-) Glad we did that as my outta shape body barely made it to the top...The above picture is right above the bouldering area where the trail is still on the back of Bishop's...in the lower left corner you can just see the tip of one of the boulders...it is looking down into SLO towards Cal Poly:-) We still had a long way to go...

But we made it! This is looking out from the top looking out the back of Bishop's

I know sacriledge we are using our cell phone on this beautiful hike...we were making plans for lunch...we thought the hike would be quicker...but it took us a LONG time to get up...I think an hour or so...Seriously I need to intensify my workouts at home! Right behind Tom is a little more climb...I didn't do it...I am a bit scared of heights and I would rather scale those rocks while attached to a rope...I know it's sad...he climbed up and later told me that there were rose petals strewn all over it looked as if someone had made a big proposal there...Fun!:-) Some of you may not know... Tom and I met while we were both attending Cal Poly...we met through mutual friends and we were all part of Poly Christian Fellowship which is an Intervarsity Ministry...so SLO is a special place for us...

Ok...heading back down...trying to get some pics of the two of us:-)

At the bottom Tom did some bouldering...I was too tired...haha I sat in the shade and relaxed while he climbed...I think he felt the 2+ years its been since he has done this...I wish he would get out and do it more since he loves it...but I also loves that he spends his weekends with me and Holden:-)

He was not happy with his form when I showed him the pics...did I mention it's been 2+ years since he's been on a rock? Give yourself a break hon! :-)

After our hike...it was late and we were STARVING so we met Tom's folks in town for lunch at FIRESTONE...yum! A little Firestone Double Barrel and a burger or tri tip sandwich doesn't get much better than that!

Holden barely missed us and had a blast running in the waves...you wouldn't believe how this kid LOVES the water...more on Day 3:-)
