Second Grade how did that happen? Today was Holden FIRST DAY of Second Grade! First day at his new school. He was a LITTLE nervous I am A LOT nervous! I didn't sleep last night at all!
He asked me to pray for him this morning to calm his nerve:-) Gotta LOVE that! I made a special breakfast of fresh blackberry pancakes, and we were off!
We found his classroom, and right away another new little boy! I think we are off to a good start! Once we got there he was confident and ready to roll:-) Said goodbye to me as his teacher took him inside. I snuck in for the first 10 minutes or so...I couldn't help it.
I already believe his teacher is a blessing, so I can't wait to hear how his first day was. You see I have been praying about Holden's school this year since we knew we were moving. Moving schools is hard, and Holden had a good group of friends at his old school, but I know God has him:-) We are in the school where a good good friend started her teaching career, and she did a little digging and said this teacher is the best, so we requested her and got her. We met the other second grade teachers and they all seemed awesome! After we found out we got her, we had dinner with another good friends and found out that they know the teacher and her family pretty well! So nice to feel like you have a connection before school starts.
I think this is going to be a great year! Thank you God for hearing and answering our prayers, thank you for the little gifts and glimpses that calm a mama's heart.
They got right in and started!:-)
You should know I have no worries about Holden making friends, he seems to do it everywhere in a matter of minutes. Being in school has been so amazing for him. He has grown into an amazing young boy. I love him beyond words.

aww He is getting so tall. Glad all went well for both of you. I remember moving to CT when the girls were going into 1s grade. I snuck into the school as well and stalked the class room until I was asked to leave. haha! :)
