New Year's Eve

Maybe it was because we had all just gotten back from India, maybe it is Eun full of JOY wanting to share her traditions with us.  But whatever it was, it was fun!  Members of our India team congregated, some in their sari's, to usher in the New Year Korean Style!

Aaron and Eun prepared a wonderful Korean meal, accented by dishes brought by the rest of the guests, and taught us their traditions.

After the meal the children were taught the traditional Happy New Year saying and bow, which they then performed for their parents and in return received a little gift of money:-)  Daniel didn't participate, although since then he has been telling people he meets the saying.

I love this capture of Eun, I think she really enjoyed sharing her traditions with us:-)  She looked beautiful in her dress, now I can't remember what it is called!

We exited the old year and ushered in the new(well at least on East Coast time) with a few worship songs, and some candle lighting and prayer.  I am told people hung around until almost the West Coast New Year, but our boys who normally go to bed at 7:30, practically imploded at 9:05, with screaming melt downs at all!  Thank goodness we had simply walked up the driveway to our party:-)  I was able to take the boys home and put them to bed:-)

Even with the meltdowns, it was a GREAT New Years Eve, and I am thankful for this new group of people in my life.
Happy New Year!
