I don't love you...

I think we may have entered the "terrific" Twos...The title of this post is what Holden says to me when I say, "I love you"...It would be heartbreaking if I thought he truly understood the concept of love and connected it with the word...but, I think he is just saying it now because the first time he did it I had such a reaction...and now we just laugh...so you know...

These "terrific" times have also begun with an emphatic "NO!" whenever you try to get him to follow the rules of the house(i.e. "We don't stand on chairs, sit down" is met with "NO"), when we have to leave somewhere fun, there is a "NO" and stomping of feet or even kicking...fun stuff I tell you...the good thing is these tantrum usually don't last long and he seems to be getting some of the concepts...although those I know he gets he seems to be testing me with:-)

Tom says it's on...the battle of wills that is...hmm let's hope I handle things with Holden with more maturity and grace than I have shown with my niece...Both Tom and I are VERY strong willed, so I am sure Holden is as well...

We're right there with ya right now. They're just testing their boundaries. Fun times ;)

With Lauren, we had more of the "terrible ones" than the "terrible twos." As she got closer to 2-years-old, things got better, because she could understand so much more. We're actually really enjoying the 2-year-old stage--so there is hope! :)
